SHARON CASE (Janie)
Film, television, and Emmy-winning actress Sharon Case
has been a lead on the #1-rated daytime drama The
Young and the Restless since 1994, in the role of Sharon
Newman. In 1999, Case received an Emmy Award in the
category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a
Daytime Drama. Case also received Emmy nominations
in 1996, 1997, and 2004 as Outstanding Younger Leading
Actress. In 1998, Case received a Soap Opera Digest
Award as the Hottest Female in a Daytime Drama
Series. No stranger to daytime, Case previously starred
in the daytime drama series As the World Turns and
General Hospital. Case's other primetime series credits
include starring roles in the HBO telefilm Silicone Wars
with David Schwimmer, and The Valley of the Dolls.
She also guest-starred in the TV series Cheers, Beverly
Hills 90210, Silk Stalkings, Parker Lewis Can't Lose, and
Doogie Howser, M.D.
Case's other recent credits include the acclaimed short
film Wentworth and a supporting role in the feature
film Carpool Guy, a comedy starring, written, produced,
and directed by Corbin Bernsen. Case was born in
Detroit and shortly thereafter moved to Southern
California. During her free time, Case enjoys reading,
shopping, and traveling.
